Picture in Picture: Viewing Videos Outside the App

Have you ever wanted to continue watching a video while you browsed Safari or your other apps? There is now a feature for that! The feature is called Picture in Picture and it allows you to view videos while on the home screen, in other apps, or in other tabs of your browser. 

For example, let's open ESPN in Safari and pick a random video to play:

In the bottom right corner of the video, you will see a new icon next to the usual AirPlay icon:

Once you press this button, the video will pop out of the browser and will appear in the corner:

You can make this video larger or smaller and move it to any point on your screen. You can view this video outside Safari:

And can even view it in another app, such as Notability. Helpful for note taking while listening to a lecture! 

This feature currently works in Safari, Google Chrome, and the YouPlayer app. The feature does not work with the YouTube app or YouTube in Safari. For more information, check out this article: http://flip.it/SKmON
